When humanity first invented FTL travel they had no clue on the physics behind the DDB phenomenon. It wasn’t until Humans met the Byrids, that the mechanics were fully understood. The Byridian consepts on physics were eagerly embraced as they solved many problems humanity had not yet solved.

For instance, Humans had long wondered about the structure of the universe and to make things sum out they invented things like dark matter and dark energy. Numerous theories were made to explain the essence of these imaginary things but only one of them was partly true. The theory that dark matter was made of WIMPs was mostly correct as indeed 81% of the dark matter is made of WIMPs. The rest however is made of antimatter that lies in anti-dimensions not visible to us. Best way to visualize these anti-dimensions is to think of a grid with our three visible dimensions as positive coordinates on it and the anti-dimensions as negative coordinates. Normal substances mostly inhabit the positive dimensions we live in and antimatter mostly inhabits the negative dimensions. This also provided the answer to the apparent asymmetry of matter and antimatter that troubled scientists before they knew that most of the antimatter wasn’t missing but lied in dimensions not visible to us.

While the matter that lies in the negative dimensions is not visible to us who inhabit the positive dimensions, we can see the fundamental interactions including gravitational effects that happen between the matters in opposite dimensions. This phenomenon caused Humans to wonder why the cosmos moved as if there was more mass than their eyes could see and thus they invented dark matter.

What lies between the fully negative and positive space in the formerly imagined grid, is what Byrids call the heterogenous space. Unlike the fully negative and positive spaces that have homogenous dimensions, the heterogenous space can not contain anything else than energy. This energy that lies in the heterogenous space is the energy that Humans calculated and named dark energy. 74%, about three quarters, of all the energy in the universe lies within the heterogenous space. The energy in the heterogenous space draws all matter in the homogenous space away from each other and powers the expansion of the universe.


Heterogenous Space: The space that lies between the positive and negative homogenous spaces. Everything in heterogenous space is energy because its three dimensions don’t match with each other. No matter can form here because the dimensional quark structures would always contain both normal quarks and antiquarks and thus turn into energy.

Homogenous Space: There are two homogenous spaces. The one we inhabit that has three positive dimensions and the one where antimatter resides has three negative dimensions. These spaces are often called the positive and negative spaces. Homogenous spaces are the only areas where matter can form because only here there are three matched dimensions that allow quarks to form matter.
